Montana de Oro state park in Los Osos California......

My mother-in-law called and said Montana de Oro would be a good place to take photos with the storm coming in.  So we went and picked up the in-laws and headed over there.
We had a really good time hiking and checking out the tide pools.  We found plants, wildlife, gorgeous skies and waves.IMG_1408 copy IMG_1124 copy IMG_1223 copy IMG_1266 copy IMG_1280 copy IMG_1283 copy IMG_1286 copy IMG_1290 copyThis was a funny bird............not only was his orange beak strange, but he was very very loud!IMG_1301 copy IMG_1312 copy IMG_1318 copy IMG_1325 copy IMG_1328 copyHere is Carol finding a pretty shell, come back for Foodie Friday and check out Carol's Carmel Popcorn recipe.  Don't tell Jill I got the family recipe before her! ;-)IMG_1349 copyHere is Dave he found a very large abalone shell, except it was out of reach, I know we are going to have to go back and see if we can find that shell at low tide soon.IMG_1389 copy IMG_1407 copy Have a great day!

How fabulous! We were there in November but didn't see the tide pools...we just walked the bluff area and took amazing photos of the beautiful rocks and ocean for several hours. I love this post!

How fun to have a sister's blog! Your photos are fabulous, after I write this comment I'll look again to see where this is in California. I live in the northern part of our state. This is a hum dinger of a storm we are having isn't it!

Nice photos! Tide pools are always such fun, aren't they? Looks like you guys found some good stuff, and I love Black Oystercatchers - the loud guys with the bright orange bills, cool birds!

Your mother-in-law was so right, lovely. As for Dave's shell maybe it will be known as the one that got away.
