First, I want to congratulate the winner of our La Creuset giveaway! The winner is Patricia at In My Free Time. Thanks for entering!
Now on to the really good stuff......the sweets!
There are these sugar cookies at our grocery store that are so good, but they are not typical sugar cookies. They are more like a little cake shaped like a cookie with frosting on them. When I saw this recipe I thought those look like the cake cookies from the store. I had to try them. I found this at The Girl Who Ate Everything.
Soft Sugar Cookies
1 cup sour cream
2 cups white sugar
1 cup butter
4 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla or almond extract
6 cups flour
3 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups white sugar
1 cup butter
4 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla or almond extract
6 cups flour
3 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Combine sour cream, sugar, butter, eggs, and vanilla. Mix well.
Add dry ingredients until everything is mixed together. Let the dough chill in fridge for 20 minutes or until firm.
Roll it out and use cookie cutters or whatever you want. I used a round cookie cutter, but the girl who ate everything made hers at Valentine's and used a heart cookie cutter.

Soft sugar cookies are perfect with anything--milk, coffee, tea, even Diet Cola. I love the sweet, pink tint. Have a great weekend!
Mmmmm big, soft sugar cookies are probably my favorite, even over chocolate chip. I wish I had some right now, preferably YOURS!
Thank you for sharing @ FF!
I really love this recipe and your photos are terrific. I'd love to use the very first picture of the cookies for my blog tomorrow. I would of course identify you as the photographer and provide a link to your blog. Hope to hear from you before the day ends. Blessings...Mary
These are the cookies all the preschoolers love at my son's school. They are fantastic for any celebration or just because!
Win Rachael Ray bake ware at my blog.
Thanks!
