These are the best cookies ever! I know you have heard that from other people who claim their cookies are the best but I have proof. Funny story......I make these cookies all the time. I have to apologize because I thought I did a post on these cookies awhile ago and didn't. Anyways, I make these cookies for a lot of things, I take them to peoples houses all the time. A friend's father pasted away and I made them and took them to him and his brother. After having one he took a bunch of them and hid them from his brother! Then we had an open house and no one showed up! I know.....cry for me! The recipe makes a lot of cookies and Mike is trying not to eat so many sweets, he said they can't stay in the house! (can anyone relate?) He took some to his architectural clients and they loved them so much they keep asking him when he is going to bring more. Well, I didn't want to make the same cookies and when I made the Salted Caramel Chocolate Chunk Cookies, I sent some with Mike to give to his clients. Turns out they didn't just want any cookie they wanted the Brown Sugar Chocolate Chip Cookies because and I quote "they are the best chocolate chip cookies they have ever had"! Now Mike, Hailee and I already knew that but it has just been confirmed. All that was left to do is to make more.....
Brown Sugar Chocolate Chip Cookies
1 pound (4 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature, plus more for baking sheets
1 16-ounce box packed light-brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
4 large eggs
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 ½ teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 ½ cups best-quality chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Put silmats on two to four baking sheets; set aside.
Cream butter until smooth; add sugars, and beat until smooth. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
Into a large bowl, sift together flour, salt, and baking soda. Slowly beat dry ingredients into wet mixture.
Fold in chocolate chips.
Drop a large ice cream scooper of dough on prepared baking sheets;
space dough about 2 inches apart to accommodate spreading.
Bake until golden, 8 to 10 minutes. Let cool on cookie sheets then transfer cookies to racks.
Yield: 50....This is a Martha Stewart recipe.
When you pack them up make sure they don't touch because they will stick together. Place tin foil or wax paper in between each layer.

I love a new choc chip cookie recipe. And I love baking with brown sugar. Thanks for linking with me today!
Visiting from NFF. These cookies look delicious. I'm going to have to try them. Annette
So nice to meet you on FF. Forget the baked cookie, I wanted to just jump through the screen and eat the dough. Your photos made me soooooooo hungry. When my husband and I were first married we would make CC cookie dough and bake a few then snack on the dough the rest of the week. The fam has grown a lot since then so that doesn't happen. Looks yum and I will try them.
My boys declared these the best cookies in the world.
