Jill's World Famous Oreo Cookie Truffles

Sshhhh!!! I'm going to let all you Cottage Sisters in on a secret. I make these fabulous little goodies called "Oreo Cookie Truffles" that look like they take hours, and of course they don't. We wouldn't be posting them here if they did, now would we??? But one loves to give the impression that one spent just hours making these complicated beauties! These go over huge every time I make them and they are gone in a minute. Going to let you in on another secret, you can substitute a lot of different varieties of sandwich cookies, they don't have to be Oreos. Now pay close attention to the list of ingredients because it's mighty complicated!!!!

Picture 001
Ingredients:
One regular size package of Oreo cookies (not the Double Stuff)
1 Large package of vanilla flavored candy melts (or use white chocolate, dark chocolate, etc...)
1 8oz package of cream cheese, softened
** You must have a food processor for this recipe. If you can figure out a method to grind the cookies up fine without a food processor, well then God Bless You!

Picture 004
I just throw the entire package in my food processor! Sometimes I throw them hard if I'm cranky!
Picture 005
Pulse them up until they are fine, no visible pieces!
Picture 006
Add your softened cream cheese to your mixer first.
Picture 008
Add your crumbs and mix until they look like this!
Picture 009
Roll into little balls. Syd did these, aren't they cute?
Picture 010
Follow package directions for melting candy or chocolate. I go back and forth using real chocolate or candy melts.
Picture 011
I didn't say it wasn't a tad bit messy! Don't these look like alien eggs or something!!!
Picture 012
Check it out!!! These are so cool and they taste so good. Try them for your next get together and I promise you will be astonished at how fast these go! Think of all the possibilities around the holidays. Wouldn't these be great as little Easter eggs??? Get creative and show us what you got!

We love these with the regular Oreo cookies - but I never thought to make them with the new vanilla ones! Wouldn't they look pretty together on a plate!

Ooo--those look so yummy. I'm a sucker for anything with chocolate drizzled on top. ;) I'm visiting from Tasty Tuesday, but my party link is actually from my Monday post. :)

These would be great in a little box for teacher treats. Thanks for sharing.

I remember my gran's famous rum balls were made in a similar manner, with mashed up cookies.

I always try to take credit for hours slaving away over a stove, even if a recipe only took minutes to make. People need to appreciate your creations!

Thank you for linking up with Two for Tuesday this week. It looks like these truffles would make a nice little treat.
